Nicole Shek (she/her; they/them) is a nomadic Oakland-based interdisciplinary Asian-American artist and holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from UC Santa Cruz (2014). Proficient in painting, photography, graphics, illustration, and textiles, their creative process taps into flowstate, intuitive experimentation, and interconnected energy, embracing wabi-sabi aesthetics.

As a versatile Bay Area artist, Nicole seamlessly transitions between roles as a live painter, photographer, and multi-disciplinary creator. Grounded in intuition, their art reflects a diverse background and global experiences, capturing the richness of life. Navigating their identity as an Asian American and global citizen, Nicole blends surrealism and abstract expressionism to explore interconnectedness in everyday moments and raw expression of emotion through her intuitive process and choice of color.
